I havent gotten it in yet. gotta play the waiting game. but after all the reading I've done i feel like it should worth every penny.

But back story i enjoy photography since 2008, i have won awards in that time with that camera. my friends nikon got me into here's what quality is like, around that era. present day i have a cannon sx570hs and a s25u.

The main reason i needed a camera that i could do anything i asked of it mainly that perfect freeze frame. i do a lot of one handed shots so most of my cheaper options are out.

And the pic is my pup taken with the s25 ultra. its just a little something of what my skill set is like.

Im looking forward to interacting with yall more in the next several days.

Edit he's pretty funny trying to catch the ball if i throw it, but no pics as its bad.

Welcome!
I think you might be surprised how well even relatively cheap cameras can manage when only held with one hand. This shot was only with one held held overhead (to see over the folks in front)
full

Whilst the camera has been infra red converted it still cost me under £300.

Enjoy your new camera, it's quite a capable beast :)

Thank you, im looking forward to see how far i can push my skill set, already got my eyes locked in, on a long range telephoto lens. but thats way on down the road.

That is a cool pic. main reason i didn't look at the cheaper options fully, i think price was around $800 usd. but more deep dive on the google, just in reading on various articles and some knowledge, seemed like that was the sweet spot. where price to what i was getting made sense.

To be honest, i would have been happy with going cheaper. but didn't want it to get to the point where my phone replaces it in a year or 2. and see my hard earned money sit in a bag haha granted that cannon is a 2014 model i believe? compared to a 2025 phone. *so my logic might be wrong some.*

Also i got a wifi flash module, that should be cool to see what kind of shots i can get. never had that ability of adjustment. all mine are built in

About as far as i got with it. just enough to grab the battery pack and toss it in the charger.

*i didn't realize when you by a camera like this. its not included.

I gotta feeling how I'll spend my lunch break haha.

Don't worry there's an endless stream of extras to tempt you, though I'm told few of them are necessary (that's never stopped me)

Yep already im getting better with it but still got work ahead of me. but i have a feeling im gonna end up with a nice kit in the end, years down the road if i do it right.

I haven't tried putting the flash on yet. but thats gonna be another fun thing to enjoy to learn.

I wonder how long it will take for me to remember to hit the lens unlock before i twist. haha.

And 20yrs of camera history in my last pic i thought was cool. all though that cannon was a small filler haha. but really that sony is surprisingly compact. comparing it to my old setup.

Update each use im getting better with it im finding my favorite lens is 35mm for a lot of my shots.. but now since i got this camera i might get back into photography competitions, like i used to do in the 4-h back in 2010.

Fun fact that fujifilm was killing it back in the day.
