Went for a hike in the snow (owl pic inside)

Today I decided to go for a hike on the snowy Boardman Park trail. I got several good shots of the trail. Then, on my way out, I spotted this owl. I'm glad I noticed it! Does anyone know what kind of owl this is? :mrgreen:

I tried that but the background is a little too bright then, and becomes distracting. I'll play with it a little bit later. Most of the shots were underexposed, because my camera kept metering for the background and trees. I got this when I switched to spot metering.

kind of eclipses the rest:
perhaps you should have posted them seperately!

on them i really like the washed out look of the paller trees but i'm not so sure about your choices of crops.
