So, I wanted to do something for my brother, as I didn't get him a birthday pressie, a christmas pressie, and he is having a baby boy, his first, later this year. I am crap with presents, usually end up getting a yankee candle or something. I decided, since I have started to get more prints and canvas work done, to do one for him, but I wanted it to be special. and By special I mean big...
Cue a 4am wake up, get ready and drive 1 1/2 hours down to the Dorset coast to snap the sunrise in Lulworth Cove. This is approx 8-12 pictures, well bits of, stitched together. it sits at a mammoth 16,000x6000 pixels, so I think that is big enough to get printed for him...

If not, and you meant was it commission, then no. just for fun.

Ordinarily, I would say that it seems risky to give someone a gift of home decor, but I assume in this case that you know his taste and existing color scheme well enough to present him with this print.

I like it. I might also suggest a frameless "wrap" style print. He can always get it framed if he wants, but he could hang it unframed as well. Be sure to include the hanging wire on it.

Well he has already commented on it on Flickr, and I quote,'Awesome pic' so I can assume he likes it. He also doesn't have a decor as such, just a collection of things. He is 26 and his GF 23ish.

Good job on the stitching. How big do you plan on printing it?

Not sure yet, maybe 40 inches wide or so..might go bigger, not sure yet, but it is about 1:4 ratio..
