What AA batteries do you use for your flash?

On the subject of battery packs/boosters I've been using a PIXEL battery pack. Contains 8 AA batteries in two 4AA groups which either double up to charge twice as fast or can be left with only 4 batteries inside for a single cell in use. I find it lasts for ages and really helps the recycling on the flash without costing an arm and a leg.

Not sure how it compares to things like the Quantum battery packs, but for a fairly cheap addon its well built and works well

In fact I nearly always use it with my older Canon Twinflash as without it the recycling speed on that flash is pretty slow so it makes a big difference to have it.

I've seen those types of 8-cell external packs on eBay, for lowish prices...from what I've heard, they're a pretty good power source. I saw a pro shooter on CreativeLive.com who used those on her multi-speedlight portrait/boudoir gigs...she likes 'em. Might be one of the very next pieces of lighting-related hardware that I buy.

I use Energizer Lithiums if I'm running on just AAs.
Otherwise I use standard alkalines and an EXTERNAL rechargeable battery pack.
Best damned thing I ever did. I can shoot a whole wedding on one charge with that bad boy.

I use pearstones, because they were the cheapest ones B&H had when I was buying batteries.

They work fine for my needs, but I don't worry much about a lot of stuff a lot of other people worry about. I just want the thing to make some light now and then, and I'm not too fussy about schedules.

For rechargeable I use Eneloops and Energizer. I use a lot of disposable batteries too - usually Duracell or Energizer.

My Eneloops keep going and going and going.... In flash, pocket flashlights, and even my radio scanner, too!

I would say "Eneloop xx 2500mah AA" are the best for runtime, but they are not cheap, and their lifetime/charge cycles is shorter than normal Eneloops.

Eneloops and the LaCrosse BC-700 smart charger(on the sloooooowest setting).

I use Energizer rechargables and keep a second charged set for the off chance I need to change them out
