Anyone here had owned or used a Canon 7D? :er:

If so, what can you say about this specific model?

I've done some research so I'm aware of its futures like 8FPS and dual digic 4 image processor etc... I'm actually more interested in knowing users level of satisfaction. The cons of the camera and the things a buyer should be aware of before making a 2K commitment???

Thank you all in advance :sexywink:

I dont think you can go wrong with 7D, i actually just watched a comparison video between 7d and much more expensive 5dm2 (digitalrev.com) and other than full frame sensor and better iso handling 7d is a very comparible camera with 19 auto focus points and faster fps. I own a 60d with a same sensor and gotta say love the camera.

I have a 7D and love it upgraded from a T2I the only thing I can tell is the screen don't show the true quality of the pic but thats not a big thing just buy a good CF card and delete later.

yeah i've been subject to the untrue quality of the screen. when i went to dallas last weekend i though i had some very good shots but they turned out bad. and the bad ones were the ones that i liked.

but i love my 7D it is a great investment.

It's one sexy body. :sexywink:

The only thing I can compare it with is a 50D.

It's the camera I would get if i did it over again(don't think im even close to ready for a full frame, or deserve it atleast)....I got the t1i, which is a good camera, not many complaints except for the lower iso range. One thing I have seen 1st hand though...... if you know how to take pictures, it doesn't matter what your holding.

I went from a T1i to the 7D and love it. If you pixel peep, you will notice the noise but good exposure helps and its nothing some noise reduction cant handle. Thats the only downside aside from the wireless flash not being RF. Its super fast though both in FPS and focusing. The body ergonomics are nice as well especially coming from T1i. I agree about the screen but wouldnt put much faith in a tiny LCD anyway. Just be careful and use proper technique. Film guys never chimped. In fact I prefer turning off the LCD and using the top small lcd so I conserve battery. Unless I need the histogram and to tweak exposure constantly (like for a wedding )

The 7D is good as a sports camera.

If you want to shoot portraits, get a 5D MKII.

It's the best camera I've ever owned. I've tried the 5D2 and the IQ is a bit higher, but that shouldn't surprise anyone since it has some of the best IQ of any Canon body. The 7D is a fantastic camera: high ISO with fairly low noise, the 8fps is fantastic, and the back LCD is one of the best I've seen on a camera. The people saying it doesn't "represent the final product well" don't know how to work their cameras correctly...because no LCD is better.

Actually the T2i has a higher screen resolution. Although I agree that the 7D screen is nice, and knowing how to zoom in is key as well.
