What's new

what does this guy want?

I would just think that somebody who's looking to establish a professional relationship with a photographer would be able to construct a legible paragraph. If you think it's got potential then go for it but take a large friend for protection. The world's full of morons - some of them are bound to have enough money to afford a photographer. Just really sounds phishy to me.

I would start by bugging friends to sit for you, unless you're already comfortable with that and happy with the results. You can check out model mayhem, but you have to submit a portfolio and be accepted.

I am on model mayhem but only shot one model so far and it went pretty well. I've kinda run out of family now plus they are starting to take advantage of me. I feel ready to move onto shooting people who aren't related and who are willing to pay a small fee for my time, because I'd like to have more experience but not have family doing multiple shoots and asking for every single photo edited and on 8 discs (they seriously asked for that) so that everyone could print from it! yada yada.. but not desperate enough to deal with that guy, his grammar alone scares me.

He sounds like a "wacko quacko" as my son would say. I wouldnt respond again and block him ( if possible) from contacting you again.

English may just not be his native language. That being said, I would agree with the others here, stay clear of him. I too raised an eyebrow at his continuous mention of his looks and fun-loving nature. I’m sure there are guys out there that think if they can get you in a room alone and get their pants off that sex is a foregone conclusion regardless of the context of the situation.

I wouldn’t bother with him just for the fact that trying to direct an inexperienced model is probably a challenge and once you factor in the language barrier he seems to be hitting there's no telling how difficult it would be.

It's Dateline. You're being set up. Lol

im with everyone else. avoid it like the plague. if you're desperate enough you'll find an attractive cousin to shoot or something and strictly tell them its for your portfolio so you'll need a model-shoot not a family-esque shoot....in exchange for them having nice fb pictures to upload lol....

like everyone has mentioned it feels iffy. out of place and awkward already...otherwise...take a friend...or two...for all you know he's not coming along either :meh:
