What is it like in Portland Oregon

This has absolutely nothing about photography but I'm on a mission to get as much information from locals as possible. Can anyone describe living in Portland Oregon to me? I'm talking in depth, nitty gritty, no holds barred, spare no ones's feelings truth about living in that area. I have been there before, in June for a week-end so my experience is VERY limited.
