What is Minimalist Photography?

I saw a picture yesterday that a workmate's wife took with a disposable film camera while on vacation, a quiet landcape shot of a caribbean beach, scanned on a normal scanner ( not a film scanner of any kind ).
It looked very good. Deep rich colors, great exposure, depth of field, nice composition,etc... I lingered over that photo for a few minutes.

I guess you need MAXimum skill to be a MINimalist photographer.
