What should I get?

I have around $900 to spend and this will be my first DSLR...Im most interested in shooting landscape/scenic. Have been leaning towards the nikon family mainly looking at the d3100 and d5100. My first question is D3100 plus glass or just the d5100? Or anything else out there in my price range better?

I have the d5100 and like it - it's my first DSLR. the D90 is a great camera from what I hear and you can get a used/refurbished body for a decent price.

With the 3100 and the 5100 you are limited to af-s lens (which are pricey even used). With the d90 you can use the af-s and some of the older lenses. You can use other lenses on the 5100 and 3100 but they won't autofocus.

The d5100 is quite an improvement over the D3100. It has the same sensor as is in the D7000.
If you can save just that much more the D7000 is the camera I'd go for in the Nikon's. The sensor is the same with the D5100, but the rest is some serious improvement. It's an amazing camera.
The lack of an auto focus motor in the D5100 is the only thing that REALLY turns me off. It saves you a few bucks when you buy the body, but costs a lot in the end with the lenses.
