Stopped by the park nearest home this evening and took a rest on a bench at the top of the hill between a pair of venerable old oaks while the kiddies played soccer below in the twilight. These two trees are very old. I wouldn't be surprised if they're as much as 150+ years old and that would have put them on the grounds of the St. Louis Social Evils Hospital for Women -- details: Missouri Women in the Health Science Professions Images

You mention two trees, but it looks like one massive, gorgeous tree! I agree with you about the age. Trees this old start to look like 3 or 4 normal sized tree trunks all tied together!

The other tree looks very similar, also oak, it's about 15 feet behind and to my left.
