what the heck is going on w/my cs3

i can't figure it out!!! i've never had this happen before. i've shut it down and restarted it 3 times now and the problem is not resolving.

While I click on any tool to use, (lets use crop for example), i am unable to use the tool in any way. The little grabber hand is the only thing that shows when placed on the picture. The crop symbol doesn't come up and I can't use the tool at all. The grabber hand will . not. go. away.

This is for ANY and ALL tools. I can use any of the toolbar menus at the very top of the screen effectively like the filters and the layers and all that and "file" and "edit" and so on.

It is not frozen in any way.

What . the f. Anyone have ANY idea??

resolved!!!!!!!!!!! man. that gave me a heart attack. i dunno what the prob was...

Try
windows/tool presets (check to view)
Then click the down button and select
Reset Tool Presets

This may help, also you could try to Reset workSpace if the first doesnt work.

LOL by the time I opened up CS3 and looked for the tabs I wanted you had it corrected.

This happened to me once. It went away by itself, but I did google for it and it looks like a lot of people have experienced this. Could be a bug in Photoshop, so make sure you are keeping up with the free udpates from Adobe.

Lol, I don't know what I would do if my Photoshop stopped working. I might slit my wrists.

I had this happen to me regularly in v7. Rebooting the computer seemed to be the only recourse.
