Ok so I like my 18-200mm for how versatile it is but I need something more dedicated for a zoom lens.

I currently own 18-200mm, 35mm, and 10-24mm. I was looking at getting a 70-300mm for specific telephoto needs but I'd need to get away with just having the 35mm then and missing a big range.

Should I just keep the 18-200 for the all around lens and purchase the 70-300mm as my main telephoto. That way when I go out to shoot I'll have the reasonably good performance from 18-100 and I can always carry the 35 as an extra.

Open to suggestions.
Thanks

Maybe keep the 10-24 and 35mm and then get rid of the 18-200 and get a 50 and a 70-300? It all depends what you shoot and where you are more commonly with your focal length. I started out with a 55-200 and found myself always out at 200, so I decided on a 55-300 and a 10-24 on the bottom end as well as my kit lens if I ever need it. I feel like I have the lenses needed for any situation I may be in...

So I guess you are aware superzoom lenses are softer then smaller zoom lenses.
Getting an 18-105mm or 18-140mm will not give you a significant improvement as those are kit lenses and they are nice but for a big improvement you will need to get a bigger, faster and more expensive glass.
It depends how dee your pockets are and how dedicated you are.
An excellent lens is Tamron or Nikon 24-70mm 2.8
Another option is Sigma 24-105mm F4 which I heard is good.
Another cheaper option is Nikon 24-85mm 3.5-4.5, good sharp lens but slower then the others.

how is a single 18-200 not the more dedicated zoom choice? it's one lens and zooms by 11x.

You can pick up an 18-105 cheap, it's prob equivalent of 18-200 in most ways except range. The tamron 70-300vc is a good 70-300 for the price.

For a little more you could bag a sigma or tamron 17-50 f2.8 and the tamron 70-300, doing without the 50-70 range but having a faster standard zoom, these are 2 of your countless options

All of the above and then some.
Even though I have no idea what kind of camera you're using.
Or what you're using it for.
