What's your favorite photography magazine?

For me its Digital Photography Magazine from the UK. I think its better than the standard shutterbug lol.

What does everyone else like to read?

I seem to pick up Popular Photography every month.

I'll second Digital Photography Magazine! I'm also quite partial to Black & White Photography Magazine. (Mainly as that's what interests me)

However, I usually find myself buying all of them each month (albeit staggered purchases) as they all seem to have something interesting in them.

I tend to find that Popular Photography is pretty much a joke. It's fine enough if you want to stay on top of what's the latest gear coming out, but I often feel like it's pandering and pretty weak on actual useful content. That said, I suppose you could describe popular music using almost exactly the same sentences, so maybe there's something to that.

I've not really looked hard enough to find something better, so rather than offer something constructive and useful I'm limited to making bitter negative remarks about what I do know.

My favorite too, and for the same reasons. Also usually has pretty good work in it. I let my subscription lapse though - I need to hurry up and renew it.

Rangefinder..... it's free

Right now, that's the only one I get. I don't like it very much... It's mostly wedding stuff, which doesn't interest me very much, and they never have articles about rangefinders, or even pictures taken with rangefinders.

I didn't expect it to be exclusively about rangefinders, but I kinda expected them to at least touch on them every now and then, since the magazine is called "Rangefinder".

I like Blind Spot and Aperture (I mean, who doesn't like Aperture?). Though it hasn't been published for a while, I still read Ten:8. There's also Daylight and Lenswork that are worth a look.

Oh yeah and Digital Camera World. I like how they focus a lot on technique and continued learning. My problem with a lot of America made mags is that they focus a ton on new fear and advertising. The same advertisements I've seen a million times already.

My point exactly, I buy them to see the latest techniques and learn new things. If I wanted to buy gear I'd check out dpreview.com or something similar.

Yeah I agree. I like hearing about the newest gear and how cool it is. But if I've already got a perfectly fine lens, or bag, or tripod, or hard drive, then unless I'm specifically looking for a new one, it's of no use to me. Learning about new techniques is much more useful. I also think that it's a great way to advertise for smaller independent shops. I have bought some great used gear at good prices from smaller stores, that I would never have seen otherwise as they get overshadowed.
