so what is it?

I have a Nikon D80 and my favorite accessory would have to be my MB-D80 Battery Grip!

the batteries needed a charge the other day, but i had to take the camera out... so i went without the grip (i have 3 batteries just for this occasion)

and it was like shooting with a whole different camera! vertical shots felt so awkward! and holding the camera was hurting my pinky!

I do love shooting with grip. But now I dont use grip anymore because I am trying to make it as light as possible. I used to shoot with 2 gripped cameras, 24-70L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS. WAY TO BULKY AND HEAVY! Now I shoot with 2 ungripped and primes. Me likey!

to me its the Hoodman SLR LCD Screen Loupe. That thing is awesome to shoot in bright sunlight. Its small, clear and functional.
With this loupe attached to your neck, it takes 2 sec to review your screen without any sun glare on your lcd. Way easier to look at your shots.

I guess this is a "you had to be there" type answer.

I'd have to go with extra memory/battery. I'd be down at least 10% of the time from forgetting ****.

My hand strap. I no longer have headaches and shoulder aches from carrying cameras around my neck!
Second most used accessory: Lens hoods
Third: weather bag/speedlight. It's a tie.

I have not use the battery grip for a long time as well. Too heavy for me.

If flash can consider as accessory, I pick flash (or flashes)

It's probably a tie between my battery grip and Black Rapid strap.

A. I love my black rapid strap. Especially when I am carrying a heavy lens on my gripped camera. It's fast, and I don't have to worry about my camera falling.

B. I really enjoy the added weight of the battery grip. I have one on my 5D so I am very used to it, but last night I was using my girlfriend's grip-less 5D2 and it felt so foreign to me.

Most used: Black Rapid RS-7 strap. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE working with it, because I keep it hooked into my 70-200. Wear cargo pants/shorts when I shoot, so I'll keep my 50 1.8 and 28 2.8 in my pockets. Used to be that when I wanted to use them I had to find somewhere to set the 70-200. Now I just pop the body off and throw a prime on it, while my 70-200 is hanging safely on the strap. Love this setup for shooting sports/concerts/plays/musicals.

My favorite accesory though, still has to be my lumiquest 80-20 kit. That thing is kick butt for getting my good even, soft lighting in a variety of situations when I don't have time for OCF.
