When lens shopping is there a way to determine minimum focus distance?

I am not exactly new to digital slr's but recently purchased a Sony A57 and have started to look for and purchase used lens for this camera. I understand the term focal length but is there a way also to know what the minimum focus distance is for a given lens? I ask because I shoot a lot of smaller objects in a light box and minimum focus distance is a concern for me.

I can't imagine a manufacturer NOT posting that sort of info on their website.

Most, if not all, lens manufacturers list that info on their web sites.

Oh B&H, it will say in the specs. It will also show magnification.

Do your homework. It's in the basic specs anywhere the lens is listed for sale.
