Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
so i just finished shooting my first roll of film. does it matter where i get it developed?

Im not master, but when i need it done i use CVS. I hear to stay away from Wal-mart

i used CVS for a while. $2.50 for develop only. They only do C-41 though. I asked if they did B/W and they said yes. And then they wrecked a roll of Ilford HP-5 because they put it through a C-41 machine.

If it is non-C41 Black and white I would look into developing your own film. Easy to learn and not as involved and expensive as you might think. C41 B&W, color neg or reversal, I hate the thought of a place that can 1 hour it getting your hard earned exposures. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Around here, Wal-Mart is better than CVS. (My local stores only, I'm not going to speak for either chain nation wide...)

I've had a few rolls that had water spots (?) on them from CVS, and their prints look like crap. The Wal-Mart prints are a little better, but still not all that great - good enough for the photo album though.

I think I'm going to do what Battou suggested in another thread and just get them processed, then scan the negs at home. I'm having trouble deciding on a scanner though, it seems that most of them don't work with Vista. I'm thinking about this one...

O|'O you should look in to the Epson 4490. I am very very pleased with mine. Buy.com has a very good deal on them. Just a thought.

I have been getting my film developed at Walgreen's for $2.50 for negs only. They usually turn out pretty good. The only roll I have had done at Sam's Club of far was mediocre attempt at pushing. Anyway they turned out alright other that just being junk pictures. It was $1.61 with tax. I'll be interested to see how they come out when I give them a better (properly exposed) roll. They will also send out slides to Qualex for $4.28 for 36 exp compared to $10 in town.

look in to the Epson 4490.
:x From one of the reviews:
Cons: None until I got VISTA. No drivers for it in VISTA yet.
The one I linked to earlier (Canon CanoScan 8800F) is pretty much the only one I have found so far that I know for sure works with Vista.

I started out liking Vista, but this **** is starting to piss me off! Half the software I have won't work on it either.....

No problem. Thanks for the update! :)
