Where to get a cheap 24-70

I have the Sigma model. Note, however, that they offer two models (one is discontinued). The NON-MACRO, second version far surpasses the first. I got mine for around $650 in box. It's a damn good lens. Not the best by any means at 28/2.8, however. If I could have the 24-70 Nikkor, I definitely would have. But, it wasn't an option at the time. Like Mike said, it's not as good, but not $1000 worse. And it's tack sharp past F/4.
