Where/When can you get 30D?

It'll be my first DSLR and I'm excited. I was thinking about 20D for a long time, so the 30D sounds great for me.

When is the earliest you can get it? How does wait-lists usually work on internet sites? If you order now, from say Adorama, can you get it sooner than if you wait until it hits the stores? Anyone with past wait-list experience? I'm going on a trip in end of April, and would really like to have it by then. Thanks.

On Amazon.com it says May 15, but there may be a waiting list. I am going to wait until the frist reviews come out, then I may have to get it.

Typically, there are waiting lists...they are probably already starting.

I would think that your best bet would be to get on the list early at one of the big mail-order shops. Adorama or B&H. They sell more merchandise than anyone else.

When will you get it? Probably best to call and ask for a realistic time line. A lot of places will just quote you the date when they expect to get shipment...and not take into account the waiting lists etc.
