I have a Canon S5 and just last week picked up a 50D.

Next month I'll be attending a wedding as a guest. I'm related to the family so I'll be sitting up close.

Obviously I'd love to bring the 'fitty, but will it be too big/loud/distracting to use as a guest? Should I just bring the S5?

give it to me I'll shoot it for you,,,I always use my 30D with no problem

I don't think the real sound of a shutter is any more annoying than the electronically simulated ones the point and shoots will be having :)

Neither, you are at the ceremony as a guest. I could see maybe taking a few shots at the reception or something, but during the ceremony?.....just buy a print or two from the pro.

Is there such a contract on wedding photography for one to be thrid or second priority of importance and not incur liability in case the pics turned awry or bad like when you're shooting on a windy day and dirt went inside your camera. I don't know if I would start another thread but comment on it pleasee or make this a new thread.
