Which Lense?

i am torn between two lense at the moment to lake travelling with me

1. Sigma 28-300 macro

or

2. Tamron 28-300 XR macro

which out of the two would you choose?

p.s. if you know of any other lenses that do the same range you think are better i'd be interested to hear about them.

I don't own either lens so I really can't provide any direct experiences. It was to my understanding that many lenses with that broad range in focal lengths usually come with sacrifices. These sacrifices are usually in the form of lens aperature, picture distortion, and overall quality. This is especially true at the far ends for the focal range. Both the lenses you mentioned are f/6.3 at 300mm. That should be something to take into consideration. I used to have a 75-300 canon usm f/4-5.6. I ended up selling it.
