#1 because the foreground is too dominant in #2.

Now you went way to far the other direction. The whites over power the image and take out the drama.

The processing not to my taste at all, but the composition of the first image is more pleasing to my eye.

#2 - I like the contrast and the simplicity of two elements: rocks and water. The processing in the first one is too muddy and the brighter edit is too far in the opposite direction.

I'm a fan of the first one. The composition works better for me. The sand and rocks in the foreground creates a line that takes me right out into the distance. In the second one, I seem to get stuck on the rocks in the foreground. They're both very nice shots, just my observation on why I like one more than the other.
