Which software to use for RAW processing and basic edition?

I wonder which program to use for RAW processing plus some edition?

I do not want to spend more than u$s100 for it, but I need consistency and the basic functions.

Any advice?

if you have a Nikon you can use their free software that works very well.

why not start with the software that comes with the camera, then when you out grow that , change,

also there are several free programs that will do a lot of basic things, google photoscape, it is very elgant
