I'm on a mission to get a decent shot of this little beast who lives in my garden, it's not a fan of posing and is probably annoyed I'm getting in the way of the hunt, but this is the best so far. I might keep this as a rolling thread to see how I get on.

Here's todays attempt....

These guys are challenging. I tried to wait one out yesterday morning and he won. The best I could do was 3 legs. You did way better.

They're definitely camera shy and there were a lot of blurry images taken!

I was having loads of issues with not being able to get the right angle and my diffuser snagging on other branches of the bush. I ended up moving the branch to see if I could get better access, but that sent it further in and I haven't seen it since.

I'm not sure if I'll get another chance to take some more pics, but hopefully I can find it again.

Crab spiders are pretty common this time of year (around here anyway) but can be hard to spot because they are camouflaged and small. Just spend time by the flowers and look.

I also find they are camera-shy. They have tiny eyes but still seem to see you coming. It helps to keep a distance if you can (6" or 15 cm) and to shoot quickly before they have a chance to hide.

Hopefully this one comes back and I can get some more shots of it, haven't seen it yet today but will keep on looking. Their camouflage is wonderful. I don't really know much about them, but started reading after seeing this one in my garden and they change colour between white and yellow depending on what flowers they're in. Pretty amazing!
