C&C is always appreciated

Ah, a perfect shot taken at a perfect time of the day. Love those soft lights falling on the side of the deer, and the head on stare into the camera. Maybe a smaller crop from the left could work, but I'm not good enough to tell without actually trying. Exceptional shot.

Yes, love those tones and lighting and a fine pose. Very healthy looking and nice to see it munching away, well caught.

All the best and love that lighting.

Danny.

I'd like to hear the story behind this and what gear was used. I myself have tried a couple of times to get a shot like this and have failed.

You did an awesome job!

Very nice! Deer are usually not easy to approach. Excellent eye contact.

Thanks so much guys. This was taken in a local state park late afternoon in December. I took it with a D7000 with a Sigma DG 50-500 lens. ISO1600 F/8 Exp/160.
