Call it an addiction or whatever you'd like, but hunting season is almost here and I am unbelievably excited!

I still don't know if I'm going out with my Bow or my camera yet.

But I am looking forward to the Rut, finally to see some Bucks going at it!

For now, its just Doe, and Doe everywhere.

I see at least 6 every time I go out.

Nothing crazy big yet, but I've noticed a lot more movement as the weather starts to chill.

I am also very pleased with the D4 iso performance, these were all at 12,800 and roughly 1/60.

Zero light available for the most part, so to even be able to pull anything out without a strobe is unbelievable.

As you can tell by the last two, they got really really close to me. Maybe within 10-15 ft.

It was a rush.

Enjoy!

And you think the 1Dx will do better? You fool!

Nice shots man.

Is #3 the moment she spotted you, mouth all agape? :D

Very nice. I like #2.

Wow! and I was excited about using ISO 3200 on my D7100. Looks like it was nearly full dark.
I usually try to stick at 6400, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do!

And yes, it was real dark, sun already set and it was just twilight left.

Haha nooooo, I'm extremely pleased with my D4. I was just caught off guard and my short temper got the better of me.

Actually no, there was another deer walking through the corn and it startled them. Almost made me poop myself lol.

I was sitting in the first row of the corn field :)

That laaaaaaast 20 minutes of the day is prime deer hunting time, but tough deer photographing time. As you know, deer are pretty active as twilight falls over the landscape.

I also hear early morning?

Yes. I don't know how many times I (and my dog) spook deer while on a walk at the wee hours of the morning, say 5:30/6:00 AM.

ooh, it's too early, but you will have good shots after that)
