why shoot in raw?

why shoot in raw? i seem to get the same results using jpeg and the file is half as big...

baaah...... you've no idea what you just done......


RAW files are lossless and are more versatile for editing. There is also more recoverable data if you suck and have blown lights and/or shadows.

yes, in order to avoid a huge RAW Vs Jpeg debate please try the search function at the top for previous RAW threads, it has been asked many many times.
