Wich type of camera to get ?

Hey guys , i'm gonna be backpacking in south Asia soon , so i want to take some beautiful shots , so i've been thinking , should i buy a Gopro hero 4 session/silver , a cheap compact camera (been thinking of the canon Ixus 177) or a smartphone (Galaxy s7) , i don't know much of photography and i'm on a tight budget, Thanks for replying :3

Hum thanks for the reply ,however wanna hear our openion about the cheap compact camera (like the Ixus 177) , what do you think of them ^^ ?

If u r going backpacking than it is all about the weight, and it doesn't make a lot of sense draging phone and compact camera which makes slightly better pictures. Go pro makes more sense if need something sturdy but it all depends what are u planning to do.

I too would vote for the phone (WT*, did I really just write that???)
Gopro is a very special camera that has its use, but not as a primary camera.
The advantage of the ixus would be the zoom though and maybe better battery capacity than the phone.
What about charging?

Oh, is the quality of the pictures taken with the ixus good enough ? is it similar to the galaxy s7 or better ? i really have no clue about this

I would take a M43/Mirrorless. Huge increase in quality, small increase in weight/size.

Buy something small, light, you can afford and you can practice with before you go. It's the camera that you use that is the best one.
