I don't understand the aversion to telephone wires.

... actually, I was tempted. But opted against it. Without the wires I think the composition would just end at the sky.

Overhead wires are maybe the curse of city photography, but then again wires are the reality of urban ladscape.

Overhead wires are the reality, and I think that they are really only a "curse" because they're hard to work with. I don't like the idea of removing an element simply because it doesn't fit nicely into convention. I am not saying that in this case the overhead wires "work" or that the image isn't flawed. But i did try to find a way to include the wired in a way that works visually.

The wooden (door?) seems crooked to me? and since you titled it 7u I would like to see a full u instead of a half u

Other than that I like it, very nicely exposed, i like the colors, and I think i like the wire, seems to add to the composition.

I agree with you about the wires, which pretty much are the composition here. There's sort of a knee-jerk reflex on here to remove any wires from an image. I might darken the diagonal shadow of the horizontal one.
