Woohoo! My 55-250mm Lens Arrived! Note - No Pictures (yet)

Seriously, the response time on the shipment of my refurbished Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens was FAST from B&H (my new favorite source for anything photography related), 2 days and I have it. I've actually had slower shipped items from within the same state I reside.

A bit disappointing however, as the weather warmed, about 2 feet of snow has melted. I bought bird feed for the feeders. But there's 10-15 mph wind. I sat outside for about 30 minutes watching the trees and the feeds for signs of bird life and nothing! It's too windy for them.

So... I'm waiting for about 5 pm and then I'm heading out to the hunting blind with my tripod and see if I can't capture a deer or two tonight.

So, no deer. I was out waiting for them around the time they would be moving and eating for the night but I'm think with the 10-15mph winds they just stayed hunkered down. Since I was out there it gave me an excuse to crawl around in the woods. :mrgreen:

Here are a few of my favorite shots I took. A few of these would have been better with one or both of my other lens, but I wanted to play with my new toy!

Also used manual focus, just to practice with it and see if I could get an in focus photo without relying on the AF. Plus, I had it set to manual as the AF is fairly noisy and had I seen a deer, I didn't want to scare them away.

Here's an edit done of the second photo. Played with the hue/saturation and brightness/contrast. Let me know how you think it turned out.

Those are some nice shots... They all look great in their original format

Im starting to get pretty disappointed in B&H shipping. Placed a order first thing this morning. Did not get order confirmation till this afternoon and still have not rec'd a shipping confirmation. This is the second time in a row that getting product out the door has taken a day or so.
