Working more with B&W....

Shifting my focus a bit in photography a little more towards landscape, nature, still life- mainly in B&W. Let me know what you think of this shot and if/how it could be improved....

I agree. It may be more interesting if it was sharper or had more contrast.

Your last name in your logo is virtually unreadable by someone who doesn't know beforehand what is says.

Your subject is not well separated from the background because they are to similar in tone, particularly in the lower right quadrant.

The dark background in the upper left corner draws attention away from your subject and it's reflection in the water is also hurting subject separation from the background.

If the photo had been made with strobed lighting, subject separation could have been done by controlling the ambient light in the scene with your shutter speed.
