World Map Idea?

I'm not sure whether this is a practical or an achievable idea, but I was wondering if it would be possible to have a world map with people's locations on? Something like this: http://www.shipwreckcentral.com/map/index.php

It would probably have to work on Longitude and Latitude, but I reckon it could be done.

What do you think?

I made a thread a while ago and I was planning on making a world map showing where each user came from. I could only find one decent map generator but all of the version you could download were without the config file so it was unusable. Mindy suggested another one which used flash and it wasn't too bad. Although it was adamant that I came from Portsmouth when I'm nearer London. Someone else suggested using Bravenet but I'm not a huge fan of them. I also found out that you can create a map with vbb. I don't know if it's built into the forum of if it's a mod. I suspect a mod.
