Crystal Belle sent me the link but I thought I'd share this with you all.
Love the honesty and integrity of this person. I emailed him and told him to contact Nikon to find the rightful owner of the gear and if not, to take a picture in RAW format and see if he can read the EXIF data -not knowing if he's familiar with cameras or not-

I hope he finds the rightful owner. But had to share it with you guys

Found camera bag and camera in a seattle park this afternoon.

Looking for the owner to identify where it was lost and what was in the FRONT pocket of the bag.

No reward desired, just want to return to rightful owner.

Amazing indeed, very rare now-a-days...

thats awesome, good people do exist

Take ANY photograph... just push the button. Nikons add the EXIF to any image formats.

Somebody left that bag in a park? good lord.

He probably wont find the owned since he commited suicide after he realized he left his bag in a park :D:D

The seems more like a game show to me....guess the correct Seattle park...and front pocket contents...and you're a winner!!!!

Funny thing is, it happens more often than you'd think. I've lost my wallet three times over the past 30 years or so (so no jokes about senior moments:lol:) and each time an honest person found it, made contact with me, and arranged to return it, cash, credit cards, and all. I've also had good samaritans stop and help me and my family when we suffered car breakdowns during vacations - each time the people stayed with us until we could arrange for food, overnight accomodations and repair service. Of course, we've also had our share of not-so-great moments (one car stolen), one smash-and-grab when I lost my camera gear, and one break-in to my office when we lost several computers. My wife had her wallet stolen from her office, but fortunately we were compensated by the bank and credit card companies for the charges that were made, and in the end, the main cost was the time spent notifying all concerned about the theft and having to have all documents replaced. Eh. On the whole, we've had more good experiences than bad. I'm glad this person on craigslist is doing the right thing. Karma points do happen.

Great story - why is it things like this don't make the daily news, only the depressing stories do? Anyway, this is a great reminder for all of us, too - put your contact information in your bag! Imagine how simple it would be for the good samaritan to return this bag if the front pocket had contained a name and phone number or email rather than mystery items? I'm going to try to remember to check my bag when I get home...

I once found one of those PDAs when they first came out. Dead battery.

Had a memory card in it. I checked the files on my computer, and found a document with a church group's by-laws on it. I contacted the church and the pastor announced my find that Sunday.

By 2PM Sunday, the owner called me and had his gizmo back in his possession. He was extremely happy as it had many contacts, addresses, phone numbers, etc. he didn't have anywhere else. He also could return the replaced he bought as it had a 30-day return policy.

I politely reminded him to back up his data.

The Craigslist posting has already been deleted, he must have found the owner.
