Writing in the air?

So I made up mt mind, I am going to get the canon a720 is . I noticed some pictures on flickr of people writing in the air.


How do you do this?

Is this a Nice beginner camera?

Long exposure time, using a glow stick, candle etc...

Example shutter speed 15 or 30 seconds... or however long it takes to write what u wanna write

Does it have to be dark or a certain amount of light for it to work?

Any camera with an adjustable shutter speed in very low light conditions would be able to do this, not just the canon a720.

place camera on a tripod and set the shutter to bulb in a very dark enviroment then use a light source such as a lighter and write away.
