Wrong Clothes

I was shooting a soccer game today, and something about the ref struck me as interesting. There was a great deal of character behind his eyes, and he looked out of place in a striped referee jersey. I took the opportunity (and setting sun) to take a picture. This is also Day 29 of my 365 Project. Feedback is appreciated!

Great portrait, and i see what you mean about the clothes; esp with that lighting he should be wearing a suit and hat - theres something very 30's, frank sinatra about it

Intense look. Kinda interesting that his neck is on one side of the shirt opening. The out-of-focus white area behind his head helps create a separation between him and the background - without it, his hair would blend into the backgound.

Echoing some of the above, what seems to be out of place is the static intensity and athletic clothing. Considering what we are used to looking at, we expect
a) the intense, static expression with formal clothing, or
b) the athletic wear with a dynamic, athletic pose.

Excellent picture, nevertheless.
