It's a Day Lily. Certianly not a Orchid. Nicely composed and you controlled the DOF, but the bright contrasty light really hurt the image. There are blown out areas on several petals, and some harse shadows. I've also struggled with bright constrasty lighting, as we really have very little control over mother nature. One thing I've gone to is using a plain Jane white umbrella to help control those issues.
