Yellowstone 2011 Trip

I hope you're not expecting people to critique or comment on over 500 photos. I mean I know this isn't the kindest "welcome to the forum" but if you'd spent any time on here at all you'd know that people will rarely click on links, and people lose interest in critiquing photos after about five.

Assuming you've joined to work on improving your photography, pick 3-5 of your favorites and post them directly in the thread, and let us know if there's anything specific you're working on so we can give you applicable advice. But no one is going to browse through 500 mediocre photos and have anything meaningful or helpful to say.

So... welcome to the forum. I hope you find it helpful here. :)

i am no where near pro or half ass pro but from the looks (first 25) they are all blurry, blown out, or just not interesting. look like done with a PS or phone camera.

I had to take the photos out of a car window.

500+ lol
Maybe we can cut that number down to like.......say 2 or 3......:lmao: Nobody wants to go through all that. Post the best shots you took and I'm sure people will help you out!!
Welcome to the forum!!!

i looked through some of them, and my best advice would be to stop thinking like a tourist, and start thinking like a photographer. go to interesting places at times that you know they will have ideal light like sunset or sunrise. make sure you are varying your pictures and are not always centering your point of interest. for the love of god get out of the car and go on some hikes. like half of your pictures are taken from inside a car. also about half of your pictures have no point. you would have done better to have taken a lot fewer, and focussed on something interesting in each on instead of taking 500 crappy ones. also shoulda gotten some of the pools near the lake like this one

One of the biggest problems with digital cameras is you can take 500 pictures without worrying about wasting film. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Stop the car, get out and think about what you are pointing the camera at.
