I found this colorful ground foliage while looking for elk in Yellowstone, so I returned the next morning to photograph it in the warm morning sun. Photographed on September 19, 2011.

Is that the Madison River in the background? My wife and I were also there on the 19th. Did get a few decent pics of a 6x7 elk.
