+1. Gordon Lang at camera labs is good for more raw data from the review, and highlighting features. He's too serious though, with no sense of humor. Fro and Kai do a better job of testing and reviewing under real world conditions, and keeping you entertained.

I am sorry. I forgot to mention him also. All those three channels are my top favourites in my subscription list. Really good channels to check review, opinions and experiences. Also Jared Polin (aka Fro from FroKnowPhoto.com) is doing very good job. He keeps me inspirating with every podcast or videocast he release...

I quite enjoy Dom Bower:

I like the Fro and DigitalRev as well, but I do feel like DigitalRev is a bit too casual at times, and miss over some of the more important parts of what a review should be. I think the Fro is a little too biased sometimes about his "Hebrew Trinity" and this puts him automatically against anything that has a variable aperture, or even zooms. Especially if it's third party. I was surprised to hear him recommend the Sigma 17-50/2.8; albeit reluctantly.

^^^ Whoa - I didn't even recognize you with the new avatar. I was all ... Who's the new guy...? "Markw from Baltimore"...he's not new ... wtf...

I love me some DigitalRev though. And actually, the casualness of it is part of what I like.

I'm sure you knew, but they are also a sponsor of this forum.

I figured I would update the first post :) keep em coming! I think this thread will help on those days where you want to kill some time.

Side note, I would watch more of Jared Polins stuff but his intro is SO damn annoying O_o

Overall, there aren't really any good youtube channels based around photography IMO. The only two that i thought existed were froknowsphoto and digitalrev.

DigitalRev is OK sometimes, but it's rough around the edges. It's kind of like the Top Gear of photography, but with this immature, amateurish flavor. I REALLY wish they did some episodes that focused on analog photography. Just one or two.

Froknowsphoto I can't stand. The 5 min. portrait I think is a GREAT idea, it can give other photogs perspective on how another works in the field which I think is important, but everything else about it drives me insane, the "edit this RAW file", the "rapid fire critiques", and some other things i can't remember..I feel if he had guest speakers or other photographers, it would really augment his show.

Actually, now that I think of it, FroKnowsPhoto is the video version of Ken Rockwell.

^i hang onto every syllable like it was straight from the mouth of the holy baby Jesus of course.
