This is a cliche, but a great example of it! I love the crazy ones on top,

A trifle contrasty for my taste. The dark mailboxes are lost against the background a bit, and I'm not sure I love that. I might, though. The blending into the background, into the jungle, theme is sort of working for me.

The tree behind the rightmost mailbox is more problematic for me, I wish it were not so neatly cut in half by the mailbox. Perhaps a position a foot to the right? You want to maintain the other tree (the one 3/4 the way across the frame, almost on the left hand side) against the dark mailboxes, not the bright ones, I think.

A little banal, a little cliched, but I kind of like it as a well done example of the form.

I'm inclined to agree about the background - I don't mind the contrast in the boxes, but the background does seem really busy. I know if I had taken this back in the film days, I'd be burning in the background, and now I would do the equivalent digitally.

Burned the doo-doo outof it and knocked down the contrast on the boxes...no can reshoot as it was in the process of being rebuilt when I happened upon it. I convinced them to wait a couple of minutes for me to shoot this one and only image.

Obviously you should cut the mailboxes out, and composite them on top of a row of Robert Palmer Girls.

I'd have to cut a few of them into pieces to position correctly...

Nice pic! I may have shot those boxes with a backdrop or one of these held behind them: Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Oval Reflector - 42x72" CRK-4272

Then maybe photoshopped a different background behind them in post

Your edit was an improvement but the background still to dark for me.

Actually, I probably would have used curves to knock down just the highlights and mid-tones in the background, but I like the spooky effect you got by darkening everything.
