i know they make model for nikon..
but has anyone use it on nikon D40??
any experience of using this lens?

Hello pompelno;
I was also interested by this lens and searched for some knowledge about it. Owners like it very much expecially after F/4 aperture number values. Here I give you a link where you can find review of Zenitar 16mm fisheye lens used on Canon 5D and Nikon D80

I know nothing about the lens, but the name of the company rings a bell.

There used to be very famous SLR cameras a while back called Zenith.
Very few people have heard of them now and in the west, but they were known as really really good cameras. This was the Nikon or the Canon of the Soviet Era and many professional photographers were using them at the time.

I am not sure what happened to them in the post-Soviet era, but my guess is you are looking at what came out of them. The lens is probably russian-made. Read some reviews, I would personally consider them seriously if I see them being sold here.

Oh yeah, one more thing: Don't count on any electronic features in your lens. Chances are it is like the AK47 - very good at what it's doing, but it won't give you an easy time doing it.
