Here's a goulish recipe I discovered this evening. I wasn't intending on a stew base that looks exactly like blood, but that's how it turned out!

1lb beef steak
1 large beet
1 large parsnip

2 tsp minced garlic

kalonji (black seed)
crushed red pepper
black pepper
ground coriander

1 tsp fish sauce
4 tbs soy sauce

1-1/4 cup water

2 tbs miso (paste)

Cut meat, parsnip beet into cubes, sautee over medium-high heat with spices until juices form and meat is cooked. Add garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce. Sautee additional 5 minutes, covered. Add water, heat to boil, add miso. Reduce heat, simmer until vegetables are desired softness. Base should thicken to the consistency of blood with deep, rich red color.

Quick snapshot (actual stew looks much more appealing, but less zombie-food-like):

That looks really neat, though!
