at-828 and at-858 and i also see there is a at-828bl/858bl... anyone know the difference between these. im also looking at ct-6703 & cf-885 .

I won't speak of the legs themselves as I have never owned any of them, however I know of several photographers that have bought the above tripods and been quite happy with the legs.

I did own the pistol grip head pictured in three of the tripods. I traded it for a couple of reasons.

1. It is a Bogen/Manfroto knockoff that is frankly of high quality. It also shares the problem of the Bogen/Manfroto. It is tall, raising the camera above the tripod quite a bit causing a bit of unstability. It only supports 5lbs (2.2Kilos).

2. If they were going to copy the head, the least they could do is use the same QR plate. The only place to get extra QR plates is from Amvona. I traded the head in for a Manfroto 322RC2. It is a low profile side pistol grip that supports 11lbs (5.5kilos) and for $10.00 I can walk into almost any photography shop in the world and get extra QR plates.

If possible check out their site and see if they have any of the legs alone up for auction. They usually do.

I have the 828-bl and have had no problems.I cannot argue that it is better or worse than bogen,manfrotto or others cause I have never used them.I have looked at getting more qr plates for other lenses and such.They also have a 3 way head that look real nice.Saw one sell the other night for 25 bux.
The only diff I see in the top 2 is the height.I bought the 928 bl because it had a more range in height.
