So im learning to take photos with my canon xti with a 85mm f/1.8 lens. This is pure hobby and wanted some C&C from people...since, I believe that I cant get better if I dont learn...

    Thanks!

    2 is great.

3 - the other people in the background could probably be blurred out by shooting at a larger aperture.

Heya RNBzie, welcome to ThePhotoForum, and a Happy New Year to you :D.

Do you mind if I move these over to our People and Pets Gallery? I think that is where they belong.

Nice ones ... I always like the blurred backgrounds only the longer lenses can produce in portrait photography. Outdoor portrait photography works best with a cloud cover so you don't get blown out parts like on your boy's face in the first. The second is nice. Makes everyone smile! :D Nice to be meeting your wife, too :D. [IMG]

Welcome to TPF! The light on the faces in #1 and #3 is too harsh for me, but I really like #2. It just makes you want to smile.
