thanks for looking

Excellent shot

Guess I'd better get a press permit next time  damn those bid white Canon lenses

Or maybe it was because we all looked like terrorists you know how easy that is to mistake 9 photographers from around the World as a bunch of terrorists

Yes, I would think these are pigeons, Chris.
And hey, Duncan, why didn't you incorporate all your meet-up photos in the general meet-up thread? Others do so too, they post their people shots AND their other photos taken on the occasion there, and not extra. I almost overlooked this one! (I took a similar one, but with the compact ... so I was in the right :greenpbl: ... taking pics inside Canary Wharf with compact digital cameras is allowed whereas taking pics with bigger sized ones like a nice little 350D or so puts you in the wrong if you haven't been to the press office beforehand to get yourself press passes ... now isn't that ridiculous?)

yea, but believe it or not my camera is classed as a compact...

OK, so that overactive security warden could not have meant YOU, either, when he told us all off for being inside there with "big" cameras. But we wiggled ourselves out of the situation well enough by quickly walking on saying we were meeting someone outside anyway, didn't we?

Huh, we didn't get chucked out, we walked away in disgust at their silly little rules. That's my take on it.

(For anyone wondering, we were walking through the building and noticed the nice skylight. So we stopped to take a few pics. A security guard walks up and says "Do you have a permit for this job"? What job? We're just walking through... and off we went)

I win...
I actually got escorted to the door !!!

Jobsworths.

Rumour has it you got thrown out of Canada Square too??? :greenpbl:

that's a really cool shot Duncan, I love the composition.
It was a real shame we had to move on, i'd only just arrived and only maged to get a couple of shots.

It's a shame some people are so stupid as to think we were press and therefore needed a pass to use our cameras. :grumpy:

hmm, was this maybe because you were several people getting out their cameras at the same time? .. I mean THREE white canon Ls maybe appear not really tourist-like but can easily be mistaken for professionals ;)

Anyway, it is a shame when creativity is hindered by rules being applied inappropriately :(

Many times we we're mistaken for the papz, but even if we went to the press office, we wouldn't have got a pass as we are not the press  just a frustrating situation that we couldn't change.

It was a real shame as the lighting inside was really good plus lots of interesting subjects to shoot.

thats really cool where is it? id love to go

dont worry i got kicked out of the mall for walking my bike thru.....for life might i add :)
