Canon sx20is

I am new to the forum and from South Africa.
I bought a Canon sx20is about 12 months ago and recently found that when I gently shake the camera when it is switched off something sounds loose in the front part of the camera. When switched on, this does not happen.
Is this normal?
I checked with a friend who also bought this camera and no noise until recently, when his camera also sounds as if something is loose in the lense area when switched off.
I hope someone can assure me nothing is wrong!

It is the internal stabilizer mechanism doing that strange noise. I have an SX20 also and I had this confirmed by Canon.
