city photographers

    hey guys, i was just wandering if any1 could recommend a good city photographer to reseach for my college photo project. i am looking at photos like the black and white ones in new york etc... mainly focusing on buildings.

    excellent, thanks!! i kept putting in city photography in google and it kept coming up with city and guild qualifications in photog ><

    If you are focusing on mainly buildings, Eugène Atget is probably the best know. He documented much of Paris just before it was "revitalized" by Napoleon III.


    Paul Himmel did NYC in the 40's.

    For a contemporary look, but more focused on people, Michael Ackerman's series on Times Square is something to check out.
