Those of you who do people/kid photography, do you have a do/don't list of what you suggest they wear for the shoot?

If so, do you mind sharing?

I have some ideas in mind, but I'd definitely be interested to see what your suggestions are.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much!

Specifically, I'll be taking some outdoor photos soon with a 3yo girl, just for fun. The backgrounds will be varied - wooden walking bridge, pond, rocks, trees, fountain, etc. The lighting will be filtered to sunny morning light. I've suggested a plain light colored top and khakis or jeans or a simple jumper-type dress because there will be a lot of details in the setting.

Any thoughts on that?

I was also interested in the dos/dont's generally.

I always say solds, no patterns. I like subtle colors like pastels for the girls pics and primaries for the boys. Families look good in matching or coordinating colors. Like kaki's with white or black tops. Jeans with white or black tops. I like light blue too. White is sometimes hard to photograph in bright outdoor sunlight. Be careful.
