Some birds display their colours, others prefer not to be noticed. Thought I had lucked out one evening up on the fells until I heard rusting behind me.

It is a very different bird from the Aussie curlew that I know here

Lovely image! Curlew will always have a special meaning for me, it was the name of the ship we sailed to give my Daniel a burial at sea. Very nice image!

Hec. Talk about the evil eye. Nature is strange. They are very different.
 
Great shot, really shows off that camouflage 'in action'.
