Hello,
once again asking for advice...sorry little noob... but anywho I was wondering who software you all use to edit after there on you computer and the cost (If you are comfortable) i am wanting to get something besids the photo project they send with the camara... give me options and cost

Picassa is a free quick way to edit your photos; has a fairly good color-correction formula, and a nice sharpening tool.

GIMP too if you can figure it out (I never bothered with it).

I know most people want to go cheap, but from experience Photoshop cannot be beat. Find a way to get it, even an older version. However, with CS3 there are some new options like a new B&W conversion ability different from the old ones. Find it, use it, master it, dream about it, because it can almost anything you think of. If you are student, you could get a discount on it too. Who knows maybe you know someone you could get a usable copy.

try Photoscape, it is free and is a bit more elegant than picsa2 (IMHO)

Find a student and ask them to buy PS for you if you can. ~$289 vs $699.

There are many solid tools out there... GIMP is another free one... but there really is no true match for Photoshop.
