Excited to gift my nephew his first camera

My nephew is turning 17 next month and is in town on summer break. He has taken some video production classes at school and shown interest in getting his own camera now that he works and has a job.

I'm taking the day off work Thursday to hangout with him and plan to give him an early birthday present.

Today I picked up a Sony NEX-5r to give him with the kit 18-55. It is a camera I had before and feel it is a good fit for him. The seller was really cool and mentioned he would toss in an wide angle filter 'lens'. Cool! But the kicker was he asked if I was interested in a Canon lens he had an 18-200 with a Fotodiox adapter. I let him know I felt I hit my budget for my nephews birthday and the guy just threw it in, free

So I am pretty stoked for hanging out with him and to give him his first camera!
